Hi, I'm Hanna Khoury!

I am a Design Engineer with a focus on product development, particularly the integration of visual form and functionality. I am currently pursuing a Master of Design at UC Berkeley.
I am proficient in English and Arabic, having grown up in Kuwait and Greece before moving to the US in 2016. I am currently studying Greek and French.
In my free time, I enjoy bouldering, knitting, and playing the piano. I am also a dancer with Al-Juthoor, a group dedicated to teaching and performing Dabke, a traditional Levantine folk dance. I was previously a member of the Boston Dabke Troupe.

My Educational Background
UC Berkeley · Master of Design 
I am currently part of the fifth cohort of the Master of Design (MDes) program at UC Berkeley, and serve as the academic officer in the program’s student association. The MDes is jointly run by the College of Engineering and the College of Environmental Design and emphasizes designing for emerging technologies, combining technical rigor with critical approach to social practice and impacts.
Tufts University · Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering 
I conducted research at the Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO), under Professor Chris Rogers from November 2020 - December 2021. My project was to design an educational "kiosk" centered around LEGO robotics to encourage learn-through-play for students.

Olin College of Engineering · Certificate
I graduated with a degree in Applied Physics from Wellesley College with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies, and received a Certificate in Mechanical Engineering from Olin College of Engineering. 
 I was a member of the executive board of the Wellesley Arab Women's Association, and was co-president for the 2019-2020 academic year.
